Today I intend, in a simplified approach, to surface a complex theme: the Brain.
Psycho physiology is a discipline that studies human behavior and the physiological processes that is at the base of its organization. Which means, physiological characteristics of our brain influence and constitute the basis of how we behave, how we feel, how we think...
We've heard of neurons, synapses, and neurotransmitters. We know that the relationships they establish are responsible for our health and equalibrium. The so-called synapses result from the neuronal relationship, which in turn generates and is potentiated by neurotransmitters. It is, above all, about the last that our attention is currently on. A fully functioning brain proves an excellent ally in our quality of life and our personal development processes. It is important that our daily routines include activities that stimulate brain biochemistry to maintain the necessary balance.
Allow me mention, some of the neurotransmitters, the actions that stimulate them and their effect on us.
Learning to be positive, seeing the good side of things stimulates the production of Serotonin. It has an effect on reducing destructive habits and enhances the ability to carry out decisions.
Sunbathing increases the production of Melatonin, which helps improve sleep quality.
Massages and exercise stimulate Noradrenaline, this effects stress reduction and improves the ability to concentrate and focus.
Exchanging affections and loving embraces increases the production of oxytocin. Which will improve the connection with other people, help increase confidence levels, an over-all good vibes and power-up the feelings of love.
Concentrating on one's own breathing, practicing meditation, consuming nuts, are habits that increase Gaba production. A neurotransmitter that helps reduce anxiety and promotes relaxation, helps vision.

Sexual activity, eating chocolate (dark), laughing, being in touch with nature, powers the production of Endorphin. This helps decrease the sensation of pain, increases feelings of happiness and decreases depressive states.
Celebrating, expressing gratitude, walking, exercising, aids in the production of Dopamine, so necessary in reducing anxiety, helps to improve our mood, energy and motivation.
It's not an exhaustive list. The primary thing is to realize the considerable importance of some specific activities and their established relation to the biochemistry of our complex brain.
It is now more comprehensible that when a psychotherapist recommends meditation or to focus on breathing. It's naturally to induce Gaba production and in turn promote gradual relaxation. Is it easy? No. But it is possible. It mostly entails practice. Steadfast determination. In this and other difficulties.
This is undoubtedly an unpretentious approach. May the experts in the field pardon me. My key goal is to make this complex subject readable. Understanding the wonderful workings of our brain so we may achieve our balance, in all levels.
