Nothing is more simple and essential!

It may not heal in the literal sense of the word, but it certainly helps to preventing. Which I consider way easier than having to treat and heal! It's not a cure-it-all, but rather, a prevents-almost-everything.

What is the great advantage of water?

Not! It's not the fact that it has ZERO calories.

But hydration and some other things you might like to know, which are just as important ...

1- Hydration

Considering that the human body is composed of approximately 60% water, and works tirelessly (to pump blood, to breathe, etc.) and which releases water through perspiration, urine and feces ... No wonder that hydration is N ° 1 on my list.

2. Promotes Vitalidadae

Our machine needs to be lubricated to work fully at it's best.

Dehydration can cause headaches, tired eyesight and general tiredness.

Water is essential for transporting minerals, vitamins and hormones.

3- Aids Digestion

Indispensable to break down food and thus promote healthy digestion.

Water keeps everything flowing in the digestive tract.

4- Eliminate Toxins

It helps the kidneys to remove toxins through the urine.

5. Supports Metabolism

It accelerates the metabolism, even at the cellular level.

6- Muscles

To stay strong and energized, water also plays an important role.

What Should be Our Daily Intake?

Traditionally an average of 2 liters of water per day is indicated. However, there are several factors that make vary this average.

Factors to take into account:

  • Age

  • Weight

  • Metabolic Rhythm

  • Gender

  • Physical Activity

  • Environment

Naturally, for example, during the winter we don't transpire as we do in the summer and therefore it's normal that we're not as thirsty. Or when we're physically active, we'll be thirstier.

How do you know?

An easy way to check if you are drinking enough water will be through the color of your urine.

- If the urine is almost colorless, rest at ease, you are hydrated.

- In case of your urine being darker, an amber color, it is time start hitting the liquids.

When I say liquids, I do not mean soft drinks, sugary juices, coffee or alcoholic beverages.

I usually sip on water through out the day. I like infusing seasonal fruit, mint leaves, essential oils or a small spoon of honey. This way, I transform water into a more tasty, zesty healthy drink.
